The Birthrate Plus® team recently came together to discuss the independent review recommendations and the next stages of implementation.
The review provides a clear framework for strengthening the methodology so that it continues to reflect contemporary maternity care.
Turning those recommendations into practice requires detailed work, professional discussion and continued engagement with maternity services. Our current implementation projects include data capture, management and leadership, specialist roles, intrapartum categories, social complexity and pathway-based approaches, and newborn care complexity. This is a structured programme of development, guided by evidence, midwifery expertise and continued independent oversight.
