Birthrate Plus® is working with NHS England to contribute a midwifery specific module for the Chief Nursing Officer’s Safe Staffing Fellowship education programme, which is accredited to master’s level by Birmingham City University. Birthrate Plus® has supported the programme from its beginning by delivering talks on safe staffing in maternity services. We are now teaching a specific module to support the programme’s aim to provide fellows, who include midwives, with specialist knowledge and skills to plan and implement evidence-based staffing. Commenting, Marie Washbrook said, “we are delighted to be playing a part in developing the programme by designing a module that addresses safe staffing in maternity services.”
