The Ward Acuity Tool has been under development over a 6-month period. The team at Birthrate Plus have worked in collaboration with 12 NHS Trusts, who participated in the development and testing of the tool.
Training has been delivered to 125 Midwifery teams in Units in the UK, Wales and Ireland so far, and the new Ward Acuity Tool was launched in December 2023, with many of these units now live and recording the ward acuity every 6 hours.
The Birthrate Plus team are completing training to the final groups of Units, and working with the software company on the development of the ward summaries which will be launched in the next couple of months.
